Changes, improvements, and bug fixes

  • We've made an improvement to our Audience feature. Previously, results were limited to Salesforce accounts and HubSpot companies with fewer than 50 contacts. After improving how we process Audience data, customers will see more results in their Audiences, providing a more comprehensive view.

  • We resolved an issue that was impacting HubSpot Enrichment for customers utilizing Picklists, preventing the feature from functioning properly. HubSpot Enrichment now successfully processes both Tech Tag and Company Tag picklists, ensuring that the feature functions as intended for all users.

  • Fix: We addressed issues with the Filters on the Clearbit by HubSpot Visitors page. Notably, filter criteria on this page used to combine the Filter field with the intent settings from "Manage Intent Criteria." Going forward for new accounts, the default intent criteria has been changed to "Allow any path."

  • Fix: While implementing changes to enhance Audience performance, we unintentionally introduced a cutoff time frame that prevented monthly digests from functioning. This time frame setting has been corrected, and monthly digests should now be successfully delivered.

  • FYI: Customers who upgraded their Clearbit accounts from a previous free tier to Clearbit by HubSpot may notice enrichment credits being incorrectly consumed. This is due to differences in how Clearbit by HubSpot handles enrichment compared to past versions. Customers transitioning between tiers can reach out to Clearbit Support for help in setting up a new account.

  • Improvement: We have enhanced the functionality of restricted picklists. Previously, attempting to input values into a restricted picklist in HubSpot without a matching option would result in the entire field being dropped. With the update, we will now only push the values that align with the preset options.

  • Improvement: Customers now have the option to prevent email addresses submitted for enrichment from being included in the Clearbit database. This can be done by activating the Community Data Opt Out feature in your Admin Account Settings page.

  • Fix: We addressed an issue that prevented newly created Audiences from loading on the first try.

  • Fix: We fixed a recently introduced bug that was preventing customers from setting up new forms integrations.

Changes, improvements, and bug fixes

  • Fix: Some customers experienced very long or stalled load times for Audiences, Company, or Person pages in the last couple of weeks. We addressed an issue with the underlying resources available to Audiences, and they are now processing as expected.

  • Fix: Live enrichment was starting as soon as a user configured their first field mapping. It now works as intended, and users will need to toggle live enrichment on once they’re ready after configuring field mappings.

  • Improvement: We've now included a warning prompt if Field Mapping types do not match between Clearbit and HubSpot CRM fields.

  • Fix: Previously, only 500 lists were visible in the List Enrichment selector. We've updated the functionality to allow users to search for any HubSpot List by its name.

  • Fix: We fixed an error where some account name fields were mistakenly displaying extra descriptive text in the name field.

  • Fix: A few customers were experiencing incorrect data appearing in the Company Name field due to an issue in how the mapping was handled.

  • Fix: Some customers experienced records that met Audience criteria not showing up in the Audience - fixing an error with the field that tracks last page view time resolved the issue.

  • Fix: We resolved an issue where the Audience tab within a Company record in Audience lists was not populating. 

  • Fix: We corrected an error where the Prospector ‘export to Salesforce’ function was not populating the Lead Source.

  • Fix: Some customers were unable to log in to Clearbit. We fixed the problem by addressing an underlying issue related to the HubSpot sync status.

  • Fix: We resolved an issue where customers could have experienced delays in synchronizing Audiences to their Google Ads account.

  • Fix: We updated the Clearbit app Home Page to reflect usage information and website visitor counts correctly, or to display a dash when the account isn’t configured with an integration that will populate those fields.

  • Fix: We fixed an error that was causing an “unable to sync” error message when trying to authenticate the Salesforce integration.

  • Fix: We resolved an Incident where some customers may have experienced enrichment delays or delayed Audience results and deliveries for about one day.

  • Fix: The “Companies in my CRM” filter was not working as intended in the Visitors page. We changed the filter to “Companies not in my CRM” and modified the behavior to work correctly.

  • Fix: We addressed a UI issue that was preventing the “Run test for webhook” option from working.

  • An authentication error affecting some customers' access to Legacy Marketo and HubSpot integrations has been fixed.

  • Response times for the Company, Discovery, Reveal, and Person APIs were elevated for a period lasting about 1 hour on Sunday evening Pacific Time. During this period, Company and Person data could have been out of date.

  • Implemented a follow-up fix to the previous Audiences issue where a small number of customers were seeing a blank page for Audiences, despite the Audience having valid data.

One less password to remember! We’ve simplified the Clearbit sign in flow while making your account more secure. We’re introducing a new sign in flow that uses “magic links.” Using a shared login? No problem - as you already know, Clearbit doesn’t charge by the seat, so everyone on the team can have their own account. Read about these changes in more detail in our Help Center article

Changes, improvements, and bug fixes

  • Fix: Audiences and alerts were using delayed data due to a delay in website traffic entering the Clearbit Platform. This issue was resolved with no data loss, and the data for Audiences and Alerts were brought up to date. 

  • Fix: There was an interruption in the Watchlist API service that is now resolved.

  • Fix: Some of our Free Tier customers received an erroneous “over quota” message. This issue is now fixed and the message will no longer appear incorrectly.

  • Fix: We addressed an edge case where some customers were facing issues with Marketo forms not submitting when using form shortening with the Clearbit tag enabled. Changes have been made to allow Marketo's default field validation in this scenario, ensuring the forms can now be submitted successfully.

We improved the discoverability of user, team, and API settings by consolidating them into a single Settings view. You can find these by going to the Clearbit Platform and selecting “Settings” from the main sidebar navigation. Usage can also be found under your team settings.

  • Fix: We found an issue where last week’s free Visitor Report was missing data. Updated reports have been re-run and sent out to subscribers.

  • Fix: We found and fixed a bug that showed Salesforce enrichment was stuck in the “starting sync” stage when on the back end, enrichment was actually working.

  • Fix: We found a typo in the UI on the Usage page in the Clearbit Platform - that’s fixed now.

  • Fix: Uploading a file for Batch processing through the dialog box was not working, though dragging and dropping the file did work. We’ve fixed this issue so both methods result in the file getting processed correctly.

  • Fix: Clearbit Capture was displaying the wrong number of people for a Company Record. We found and fixed a recently-introduced issue with the filter not being properly applied.

  • Fix: We fixed a problem where a dropdown menu on the Audiences page was rendered in the wrong place in the page.  

  • Fix: The ActiveAt attribute was not getting populated in HubSpot records that were created after the mapping was added, despite the Clearbit back end having the relevant data. We implemented a fix that keeps this attribute in sync between the two systems.

  • Fix: The “Google has been disconnected” alert message was fixed to route to the correct place to resolve the connection error.

  • Improvement: Added a new set of Company tags to the Audience Builder. Previously, these tags were only accessible through an enrichment attribute or the API.

  • Fix: Addressed an issue where canceled exports were erroneously deducting credits for free accounts. We've refined the logic so that credits are only consumed once the export successfully completes.

  • Fix: Improved query performance for searching for an audience member by name.

We made a promise to be the best in B2B data, and our team has been hard at work doing just that. We’ve harnessed the power of Large Language Models to use AI to achieve even more improvements in our coverage of key data attributes. We now have greater than 99% coverage for the most enriched domains on our Platform for Company Description, Industry, Tags, as well as for standard industry classification frameworks like NAICS, SIC, and GICS. And we’re not done - stay tuned for huge improvements in other key attributes soon.

  • Fix: Marketo forms were not submitting when specific adblockers were active. While this bug was previously fixed, an edge case caused it to resurface. Specifically, when a user copy/pasted an email and attempted to quickly submit a form on a slow connection, the form failed to submit. That edge case is now also resolved.

  • Fix: We resolved an issue where Salesforce synchronization status appeared to be stuck at 75% despite the backend synchronization having completed successfully. 

  • Fix: The Clearbit Created Time attribute was incorrectly being updated for records during backfills. We've now implemented a fix to ensure that this attribute is updated only when the record is initially ingested.

  • Alert: Important Notice Regarding Recent AWS Outage Impact on Compliance-Related Records

    • We want to bring to your attention an important update regarding a recent AWS outage that took place on September 18th-19th, which had an impact on our services. During this outage, there were instances where Clearbit may have failed to receive and mark records from HubSpot Webhooks as Compliance Deleted in our systems. As a result of this outage, there is a possibility that Clearbit could still surface information from records that should have been marked as Compliance Deleted during that specific incident period.

    • To ensure that the Compliance Delete records are accurate and up-to-date in our system, if your organization deleted any HubSpot CRM records for compliance reasons during the outage period we strongly recommend that you provide us with a list of the associated emails and/or domains of these records. This will enable us to confirm that these records are  marked within the Clearbit ecosystem.

    • To submit records, or if you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out to our team at security@clearbit.com.

  • Fix: We resolved an error on the payment page for Batch processing.

  • Fix: We fixed a bug that prevented deleting users from the Platform Teams page.

  • Fix: We've fixed an error that led to users receiving email digests with Company records not aligned with their Salesforce Account Owner status.

  • Fix: Due to a multi-region and multi-service AWS outage, we had delays in data processing between about 4:00pm Pacific Time on September 18th through about 4:00am Pacific Time on September 19th. Due to these underlying storage and network infrastructure issues, some data loss happened during the outage window. To better guard against future data loss, we have migrated part of our infrastructure to solutions with additional redundancy features and will continue to implement additional measures.

  • Fix: Addressed an issue in Selective Enrichment for Marketo where the 'add condition' function in sub-grouping was not functioning as expected.

  • Fix: Our UI has been updated to accurately reflect that the Marketo Integration only supports live enrichment.

  • Fix: We've fixed a problem in Selective Enrichment for Marketo related to Date Type fields, ensuring they now display the correct options.

  • Fix: We've fixed an issue where certain company names were being incorrectly set to the string "default."

This week, we're highlighting two significant internal enhancements aimed at improving your experience with data enrichment:

1. Real-Time Enrichment for New Records:

We understand the importance of swift data delivery for your lead routing workflows. To ensure your data is enriched in real time, we're adjusting our process. Newly created records in Salesforce will now take priority in the initial pipeline stage, while updated records will follow at longer intervals. This change will enhance the speed and efficiency of your lead routing workflows.

2. Streamlined Backfills for Enhanced Performance:

We're taking steps to prevent potential bottlenecks in data processing. To achieve this, we're limiting backfills for the integration objects in each customer’s account (Accounts, Contacts, Leads, Companies, etc.) to one per 24 hours. This change will provide our system with the necessary time to completely process the original batch of data, resulting in smoother dynamic updates and backfills for everyone.

  • Improvement: Added a new data source to improve employee count, revenue and location data.

  • Fix: We discovered and fixed an error with synchronizing fields for several accounts for the Marketo integration.

  • Fix: Addressed an issue with several Salesforce accounts not being updated.

  • Fix: Detected and addressed error in selective enrichment criteria processing.

  • Fix: Corrected an error with missing metrics that would be visible on the Clearbit platform dashboard. The issue was caused by an error in implementing some forthcoming platform UI changes.

  • Fix: We cleared a backup causing delays in certain forms of enrichment, impacting integrations including Platform Enrichment for SFDC, Hubspot, and Marketo, as well as Person API webhooks.

Introducing: Clearbit Status Trait

We just released a new system trait to help you better understand the outcome of a record’s enrichment compared against your field mappings. This status code is designed to help you create a more effective workflow by providing a clear outcome of Clearbit's attempt to find enrichment data that matches your field mappings.

The three possible code values for Clearbit Status are:

  • 200: Clearbit successfully found enrichment data corresponding to the field mappings. For example, the Company Name attribute was mapped and Clearbit successfully found data for that attribute.

  • 206: While Clearbit found enrichment data, it does not match the current field mappings. Building on the previous example, Clearbit found data for a record’s Company Name attribute, but this attribute was not mapped.

  • 404: Clearbit was unable to locate any enrichment data to match against the field mappings.

Using Clearbit Status provides a strategic advantage in managing your workflows. By integrating this status code as a trigger in Salesforce, HubSpot, or Marketo, you can streamline operations and automate specific actions effectively. This enables you to optimize your processes and make the most out of Clearbit's capabilities for your business success.

This transition will take place over the next few months for all customers currently using the legacy integration. Support for the legacy integration will be available until its end-of-life date later this year, and there will be no changes to the contract terms and pricing.

For the first time ever, we have true global coverage. Using a combination of our own proprietary data gathered during these last 7 years combined with the powers of Large Language Models – we can identify and enrich any company or contact, from any country, in any language. 

Japanese, Korean, Hebrew, Spanish, French, and Mandarin language domains are all now perfectly enriched with English descriptions, industry categorizations, keywords tags, and every other Clearbit attribute. 

As a Clearbit customer, you’ll feel this most in Europe and Asia. Our EMEA and APAC coverage has expanded significantly; we’ve added coverage of 2.1M new EMEA companies (+30%) and 1.7M new APAC companies covered (+34%).

We’re introducing keyword tags: granular tags based on the content of a company's website. We're excited to announce the release of Clearbit's new Google Analytics 4 (GA4) integration! As you may know, GA4 is replacing Universal Analytics. On July 1, 2023, all standard Universal Analytics properties will stop processing data, while 360 Universal Analytics properties will cease processing data on July 1, 2024. Our new GA4 integration is here to seamlessly replace Clearbit's Universal Analytics connection ahead of these changes.

By using the GA4 integration in conjunction with Reveal, customers can identify which companies are visiting their websites. This valuable information can then be synced to GA4, providing deep insights into how these companies are discovering, engaging with, and converting on your site.
