Reveal: Shine New Light on Anonymous Web Traffic

Featuresby Alex MacCaw on September 14, 2016

I'm excited to share Reveal [https://clearbit.com/platform/reveal], a new product that delivers company data based on an IP address, effectively allowing customers to de-anonymize web traffic. Powering Reveal is a completely unique and dynamic dataset. Traditionally, IP-to-Company applications have been limited to large companies who own their IP blocks. Friday's outage

Companyby Alex MacCaw on September 13, 2016

On Friday afternoon, Clearbit was down for approximately 24 minutes, from 2:14pm to 2:38pm PDT. Companyby Alex MacCaw on June 10, 2016

Yesterday we had a bad outage. From 22:25 to 22:58 most of our servers were down and serving 503 errors. As is common with these scenarios the cause was cascading failures which we go into detail below. Every day we serve millions of API requests, and thousands of businesses depend on us - we deeply regret downtime of any nature, but it's also an opportunity for us to learn and make sure it doesn't happen in the future. Below is yesterday's postmortem. We've taken several steps to remove singl
